Welcome Stella!

Finally, I'm back!
So my Stella was born on October 13th, 2011 - at 41 weeks.
She weighed 9 pounds 1.5 ounces (4.100kg) and measured 21 inches (53cm). A BIG girl!
After a long and painful labor it was great to finally have her in my arms. So beautiful, so tiny and so big at the same time... Momma was in a lot of pain for a while, the first month was very difficult with the lack of sleep, challenges of breastfeeding and just getting to know each other.

But all that is in the past and she's now 3 and a half months and the cutest thing ever! She smiles so much and is such a happy baby! Feedings have become easier and we are getting along great :)
Believe it when people say it gets easier... it does, every day.
It's amazing to watch her discover every little thing and watch her grow.

Stella's Nursery

It's been a while since I've posted - I guess you could say I've been busy with my latest "project"... Her name is Stella and should be here around October 5th! Yay, so exciting!
So my husband and I worked hard on getting the nursery ready. It's not completely done, but enough to show everyone. We still have a few details to get done, but here goes...

Our second bedroom used to be the guest room/office/dad's music studio/etc/etc... :)
So we still had a lot of stuff that need to be stored there and not enough closet space. To solve this we ended up getting the Ikea PAX closet system. We designed it to be half for baby and half for other things. That way we had the space but wouldn't visually interfere with the decor of the nursery.

Then we did a little painting... the color chosen was Silver Screen from Behr. Neutral and subtle.

The rug is the exact color I wanted - It's from Pottery Barn Teen. The twin sleeper is from Crate and Barrel and the changing table from Ikea. The shelves are also from Ikea.
To make the changing table a little less "Ikea"I found the knobs at Anthropologie and the baskets and wastebasket at Target.

The crib is the Bam Crib from Argington. It can be used as a bassinet too. Just take the sides off and it becomes a little bassinet for those first couple of months. It was a great deal on Amazon - no tax, free shipping. The bedding is from Migi and I found it on Amazon also.

The picture frames are from Ikea and I painted them (actually my mom did!). The big wooden S I got online and also painted it myself. I got those small sample cans of paint at home depot, to make sure I had the color I needed.

Baby Shower Cupcakes

A client ordered yellow and green baby themed cupcakes for a baby shower.
I made vanilla and chocolate cupcakes topped with colored vanilla buttercream and a baby themed fondant cutout to top each one. I think they came out really cute! :)

Cake Pops!

Here are some cake pops I made some time ago...
They're so yummy!

Leo's 4th Birthday

My nephew Leo just turned 4 (he's so big now!) and even though I'm far away I did what I could to be a part of it. So I designed the invitations and the favor tags for his party.

Happy Birthday my dear Leo!

Happy Birthday Gael!

For Gael's second birthday I made a 2 tiered cake, covered in fondant with polka dots and stripes. The colors matched the animal theme.

Welcome Chloe!

Maternity favors for my friend Clarissa's baby girl.

Sugar cookies with fondant details.

The cookies were placed in these cute boxes designed by Chloe's talented mom!

Lucas' First Birthday

My friend Flavia hired me to plan the decoration for her son's first birthday. The theme was the Circus, very colorful and cheerful. It was great planning everything with her and the party was a success!
Oh, and I also made the cake! A 2 tier chocolate cake with brigadeiro filling - yummy!!!

This was my first official project in this newly started business of party planning. I learned a lot and enjoyed the whole process. So happy that everything turned out great!

Here are some pictures of the dessert table, cake and all the little details that made everything so special!

I designed the invitation based on the circus theme and set off the creative process for the other pieces.

These cute cake toppers were made out of fondant.

A view of the dessert table: the cake, brazilian docinhos in colored paper cups,
bonbons, truffles, popcorn boxes, marshmallows and beautiful swirl lollipops.

Utensils were wrapped in red napkins with personalized napkin rings.

The dessert table with the circus inspired red and white panel
and personalized banner.

A closer view of the cake.

Each table had a balloon centerpiece in mm's filled vases.

The cake toppers.
The favors were these cute boxes filled with goodies.
The boxes were made by Flavia's cousin and I designed the "Thank You" sign for them.
